Our Day

Miss Kiki had a fabulous birthday last week and I'm still in shock that I have a four year old! We started off the day by going to the doctor (I had to get a check-up on my skin graft, which is healing nicely). Then we headed downtown to have lunch with Daddy at the best burger joint in town! The whole time we had to blast her new Kidz Bop CD she's been telling me she wants every time the commercial comes on Nickelodeon! She already knows every work to several songs (ugh! ha ha)

She did not want her picture taken!

We had to leave Daddy and then went to pick up Meemaw for a shopping trip. We got some cute clothes and shoes at Gap & Children's Place.

Next we picked up Bubby and headed to Chuck E. Cheese for the big party for two! Unfortunately Bubby had to leave. He started running fever and threw up all over Daddy :(

Kiki felt like a queen when Chuck E. came out to give her a crown!

Here's the cake:

And Bubby's cake too, even though he never even got to taste it (don't worry, he already had cake on his actual birthday)

I wonder what she's wishing for here:

Blow out the candles!

It was definitely a great birthday and the kids racked up on presents (thanks everybody!) I will be keeping a list of every present that had a 1000 tiny pieces though. Paybacks... :)

Out of all the gifts, Bubby liked the Kiki tea's party set:

Happy Birthday kids! Can't wait until next year!

She's Four!!!

Four years ago on this day, I held you in my arms for the first time at 3:47PM. You were the sweetest thing I had ever seen and I will never forget that day. I remember the first things I noticed was your Daddy's widow's peak, your blonde peach fuzz hair, and those red lips. I've been asked several times if I ever enhanced the color of your lips in pictures. Nope!

One year old

Two years old

Three years old

And now you're 4! My last year with you before you start Kindergarten. It's bitter sweet. I miss my baby, but you're growing into such a beautiful little girl!

Spur of the moment!!

My step-sister-in-law (got that?) came over to give Kiki a little trim yesterday. However, Kiki shouted out that she wanted it cut short! Aunt N was a little bit nervous thinking I didn't really want it cut, but I said go for it. It will definitely make brushing it a whole lot easier!

Just for reference, this it what it looked like a week ago...

Here she is getting it cut...

And the final 'do after a shower, blow dry, and even a little straight iron...

She was so excited going in to school this morning! I never even noticed before, but her best friend Maddie has practically the same hair cut and they were so excited. Jumping up and down yelling "We have the same hair!"

It is a little bitter sweet for Mommy though. She looks all grown up now!

Oops, I skipped a day!

Only two more days until we have a 4 year old! It seems like just yesterday she was crawling around in a diaper and barely saying Mama. Now this child does not shut up. Sometimes her Daddy and I just look at each other because she's been talking forever!

But she was nice enough to let me practice taking a few more pics on her this morning. Of course I had to bribe her. I told her we would stop by Meemaw and Sambo's house if she cooperated.

Look at this cheesy grin!

4 more days

... until Kiki's turns 4!

She's so excited! I've already decided to take the day off of work and do a Mommy/Daughter day. I realized that this will probably be her last birthday when she's not in school. She starts kindergarten next year (say what?)!

We're going to spend the day shopping, eating lunch downtown with Daddy, and just being princesses!

Kiki's turn!

My kid's birthdays are only 11 days apart, which I actually like because that means one birthday party (such a mean mom! *evil laugh*). So now it's Kiki's turn to celebrate her birthday week.

Of course she fell down on the playground and scratched up her chin right before we were planning on taking some pics! So I think we're going to try a redo of the first set of pictures this weekend. But for now, I did get a couple of pics of my sweet (not-so) baby girl....

I almost forgot to post these! Bubby didn't tear into his cake near as much as Kiki did on her first birthday, but he still loved it.

He had a great first birthday surrounded by family and loved all of his presents.

Happy 1st Birthday!

I cannot believe V is one already!

He is just the sweetest little boy and totally has his Momma's heart. I cannot walk into the room without him reaching up for me, but honestly I'm a little flattered by that. My mom always told me there's a special bond between a mother and her son and I never knew what she meant until August 14th, 2008.

This day feels like yesterday....

And now you're technically not a baby anymore (you better start toddling soon, so you can live up to the name!).

This is probably my favorite picture of him so far. It shows off his personality so well! There are times when he will just look at me and smile with that hilarious grin and he just looks so happy. But I think my favorite is when he gets so tickled at his big sister in the car that he gets the hiccups from laughing so much. :)

Happy Birthday Baby Big Boy!!! I love you with all my heart!

One more day

... until Bubby turns ONE! I have no idea where the past year went.

Here are the outtakes from our photo shoot...

He kept trying to crawl away just about every time I got him set up...

"Momma pick me up!!!!" Notice the plumber's crack!

This was the last picture of the morning. He was just down right pissed by this point!

Birthday week

In honor of Bubby turning ONE this week, this blog will be dedicated to him (as if it's not most of the time already! :)

Birthday parties galore!

We had a weekend full of birthday parties. First Z's second birthday at a water sprinkler park. This was our first time visiting the park and it was so much fun!

We also went to my brother-in-law's 40th birthday party on Sunday, but I was too relaxed to get out of the pool & actually take any pictures (ok, I was too busy with an almost 1 year old clinging to me). Next up is Bubby's birthday party this weekend, followed by Kiki's birthday party a week later.

Here's Bubby at the sprinkler park...

I think his face says it all! He loves the water!

He was trying to lick the water in this pic! He's very bendy...

This is pretty much the only picture I got of Kiki. She was way too busy running around to stop for a picture...
