Christmas morning at 16 months old

I stumbled across this old picture of Kiki from Christmas morning 2006. She was 16 months old, which is the same age that Bubby is now. Sometimes they look so different, but sometimes they look so much alike!

America's Got Talent

Not long ago, Kiki and I were watching a YouTube video of a little girl on one of those America's Got Talent shows singing Somewhere Over the Rainbow. Kiki was just smitten with the little girl and made me watch it about 50 times in a row. She's been practicing this song around this house for a while and she decided she wanted to sing for everybody at one of our Christmas get-togethers (and yes, she had to wear her new gymnastics leotard over to Grandpas house for lunch!).

My mom got us one of these handy dandy little Flip Video cameras for Christmas this year. It's awesome!

Luckily I was able to catch some of Kiki's talent on video. I just hope she can continue to sing in public without being shy.

Seriously...

I just don't think he could be any sweeter! I'm a little biased though.

Snuggie Time

I think this pretty much sums up how I feel after the Christmas holiday. Full, sleepy, and ready to curl up with a warm leopard Snuggie!

Run for his money

No this is not my house! But I did have to stop and take a picture of it. I think they're trying to give Clark Griswold a run for his money!

Merry Christmas!

A mullet no more

See this awesome mullet?

I finally cut it tonight. It was Bubby's first hair cut.

Here he is again before:

And here he is after. I just cut a little off of the back so it would be even. It's still so short in the front. He was all business up there!

My gymnast

I have been trying to post this since Wednesday! Turns out, I'm really busy. Hopefully I can devote more time to blogging since I will be off work all next week. I feel like running around with my arms up in the air shouting it to the world! AHHHH!

Kiki had her first gymnastics show this week and it was adorable! They've really been working on finishing and showing off!

First they worked on cartwheels.

Then handstands.

Then balance beam.

Look at that strut! HA

Great finish!

Then uneven bars.

They did vault in there too, but I couldn't get a good picture. At the end they all received a gold medal. Maybe one day she will actually be tumbling with the big girls!!

Bite me

Some little brat kid bit Bubby on the face yesterday at daycare. Don't worry, I gave him tons of kisses to make him feel better... on the other cheek of course in case this one is sore!

Roller Skating

We went to a birthday party last weekend and Kiki tried roller skating for the first time. Let's just say she's not a natural! HA We had a great time and I even put on some skates for the first time since, oh, I don't know, 8th grade?!

One lesson I learned is that it's really hard to take a picture in a dark skating rink with skates on! So excuse all of the blur!

Big trucks

I like big TRUCKS and I can not lie!!!

Ok, yes, I agree, that was AWFUL! I'm sorry, I just had nothing else to post today. I've been too busy to even pick up my camera! HA

Oh Christmas Tree x 2

This is the second year we've had two Christmas trees. With little ones running around, this was my solution to keep their little hands off of the nice tree. So we set up a 4-foot tree and I let the kids decorate it. They get all non-breakable ornaments and can put them wherever they like! We also put all of the singing Christmas toys in front of their tree.

So far this has worked like a charm! Kiki's old enough to know that she shouldn't touch the big tree, but Bubby hasn't even tried to touch it. We showed him how to turn on the singing toys and that keeps him busy enough. I've heard Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree more times than I care to this season, but at least he's having fun... and keeping his paws off of my tree! :)

Kiki loves having a Mommy tree and a Baby tree!

Boys

Here are more pics of Tobie's boys. Remember I said her little one would not cooperate? I was not lying! :)

I love just this candid shot.

Oh Christmas Tree!

More Kiki Style

I've mentioned before in this post that most of the time I let Kiki pick out her own clothes for daycare. Here are a couple more looks she pulled together in the early hours before school.

Thanksgiving - Bagpipes & Hula Hoops!

Here's my slightly late Thanksgiving post!

I love Thanksgiving at my Mamaw & Papaw's house, my paternal grandparents. They live on about 50 acres of gorgeous land. There's an old house, a new house, a little house, and a barn... all of which accommodate my kinfolk that drive from all over to join us. My grandmother's brother & sister were also there, along with their kids and their kids. I think we had about 50 people. Some years there are even more when my grandmother's other sister's family joins us from Texas.

I will be the first to admit we have some goofballs in my family! At one point there was an impromptu bagpipe and hula hoop show. Seriously.

Those eyes!!

My friend Tobie told me she's received some complaints because she has almost no pictures of her almost 4-month-old. Of course when we tried to get pictures, the little man just didn't want to cooperate! He just wanted his momma to hold him (Believe me, I know how you feel, Tobie! :)

I did snap this picture of him. Her kids have the most gorgeous blue eyes!!

I've got a few more to post later too. She's got some cute boys :)

Thanksgiving pic

I wonder if I can just crop Kiki into this picture? HA

My girl

I have been so busy, I've neglected the blog this week. Got my Christmas cards finished, the house decorated for Christmas, and enjoyed Thanksgiving, all while dealing with a sick little Bubby. His fever is gone and his cold is definitely getting better, but he now has an ear infection. Our sleep has definitely been disrupted in the last week. I hope we're all back to normal soon!

In the meantime, I just love this sweet face!
