Photoshop

Since it's been cold outside and nobody really has the desire to brave the cold for pictures lately (including me), I've been trying to practice my post-processing. I've spent a lot of late nights on the laptop watching tutorials, reading step-by-step instructions and just searching for the kind of photos that make me smile. Although I think black and white pictures are classy and sophisticated, I heart color! I think all of the prints I have hanging in my house right now are in color.

Here's a before and after of a photo I took last fall. I love how the leaves look like they're on fire where the sun hits them.

Photobucket

Now for some good news.... it's supposed to be 64 degrees outside this weekend!!! I cannot wait to get out and shoot. Hopefully my kids will be happy to get outside as well, even if I do have a camera in their faces!

Sweet girl

Again, I've had quite a few babies in my home this winter and that's quite alright with me. Here's another couple that did some maternity photos with me last fall. Not long after these photos, Little Miss Carly decided she wanted to make an early appearance 5 weeks earlier than her due date.

Here's Mom & Dad... aren't they cute?

And here's the star of the show...
Check out that chubby cheek hanging over her arm. haha

Stuck indoors

You know what... if I have to be stuck indoors taking pictures this winter I can honestly say that I can't think of anything I'd rather photograph than all of these sweet newborns I've had at my home lately.

I did maternity pictures before this little guy arrived and he might just have the sweetest parents ever!

Photobucket

I love it when parents come with ideas for their photo or bring props they want to use. It definitely makes the pictures a little more personal. As you can tell, Dad is a musician. Hopefully little Grey will follow in his footsteps! With all of the musicians in my life, we'll have no problem entertaining the next generation! I've already got a few kids in mind to be the next Beatles!

Or maybe he'll be a football player...

Daylight Savings Time

I just thought I'd mention that we spring ahead on March 13, 2011. I'm not a big fan of getting off work at 5:00pm and it's already dark outside. And let me just say that the groundhog this year better not see his shadow (or he better see it - whichever one will bring us an early spring!)

In the meantime, I'll continue to shoot indoors.

Twins

I was a little nervous, but mostly excited when I found out I had the chance to do some twin newborn photos. We did have a hard time getting them both in the same shot, but I'm sure their mom (also a photographer) will have that problem for the rest of her life! haha

Newborn

Here's a newborn shoot that I recently finished up from last year. Can I just say that I'm so lucky that I get to work with some of the sweetest families ever!

Here's big sister. Look at those gorgeous eyes! We had a good time playing while little sister was getting ready for her next shot :)

We made Dad get in there for a few photos and there's just not much sweeter than a Daddy loving on his baby girl. Awwwww

SNOW!!! Welcome 2011

We're only a few days into the new year and we just got some snow dumped on us. We don't get a lot in the south, so people freak out when we do. Schools & businesses close as soon as the flurries start! But hey, I'm not complaining. I get to spend a day home with my two little snow bunnies. We got out early this morning so we could find some good snow that hadn't been tracked through yet. I love the snow!!!

I'm back in the saddle again...

My break is over and I'm starting to get back into the photography thing again. And I'm loving it!

Here's an adorable family from a December shoot that I'm just now posting. Little boys are fun to shoot! They don't really pose, they just act natural. I kept trying to get the little one to punch his brother in the arm... and told him that he wouldn't get in trouble. He wouldn't do it though! I know I would have given my brother an uppercut if given a freebie!
