Rooooaaaar!

Is this the scariest little lion you've ever seen?

It was just about to rain this morning and the sky was this strange orange color. Just perfect for capturing courageous lions out in the wild.

The lady bug would not let me get her picture yet. We'll have to try again tomorrow! I may have to resort to bribery, which usually works!

Kiki's first painting

When Kiki saw the new canvas, paints, & brushes she thought she was going to get to help me paint. She asked me repeatedly when "we" were going to start on the painting. So, she got her own 16x20 canvas board and created her first masterpiece all by herself. She's a regular 4-year-old Picasso!

I'm going to frame it and hang it in her bedroom.

Boo!

Check out our pumpkin! It looks great, but these strange muscles in my hand and forearm that I never knew existed are still in pain from carving this. I started on a second one (got to have one for each kid, you know), but only got half way through before I gave up. I'll be finishing that one tonight, hopefully.

I love Halloween!

The progression of a painting

I decided that I wanted something to go over the couch in my hearth room. I love funky art and this is what I've come up with so far. I'm on the fence about it. One minute I like it, the next I'm not so sure.

Painting is one of my favorite hobbies, but I rarely get a chance to paint anymore with two kids that want to "help". Bubby kept touching it, looking back at Daddy with this sly look, and when Daddy said "NO!", he would put his hands up to his face and cry. We're so proud that he's learned to fake cry! :)

So, this is the first stage in the progression this painting. I'll update when I'm done with it and it is on the wall!

This is the couch it's going over. It's funny how different the colors look in these two pictures. I would say that the blue is definitely more of a teal blue color instead of sky blue.

Picnik.com

I love playing on Picnik.com. These are some photos I took earlier this year that I tried to spice up a little bit.

So much fun and lots of pictures!

My friend & coworker, Lucy, asked me to come take pictures of her new horse. I had such a good time out there! The weather was cool and crisp, the sun was finally shining between these huge, white, puffy clouds, and there were a bazillion friendly animals.

I think this might be my favorite picture out of the 258 that I took! This young horse was showing me all kinds of love until we both had a run-in with an electric fence. I touched the horse's head and at the same time must have touched the fence. Poor thing was shaking his head while I was shaking my hand! Thanks Lucy for warning me about the fence! :)

Here's Lucy's horse, Grey "Goose". He's so pretty.

This is Kate, who also works with me, and her horse Buddy.

Check out this pig, Chop. That's Some Pig!

Before I left, they let me ride Admiral. He was such a sweet horse, but he knew I was an inexperienced rider! We spent most of our ride with him stopping to eat grass. I finally kicked his butt into gear though. So much fun (Thanks Lucy, Kate, & Leslie)!

I love when Kiki brings artwork home from school. As you can see below, Mommy is one big blob (thanks sweetie), Daddy seems to have a mohawk, and Bubby resembles Ike, Kyle's little brother on Southpark. This one might have to go in a frame!

Of course I had to include Bubby's art. He might be the next van Gogh!

A couple of Bubby pictures too...

I'm not sure there's anything more adorable than chunky baby legs!!!

A couple recent pics of Kiki...

Wow, I can't believe how much she reminds me of her great-grandmother (my father's mother). I am going to have to find some pictures of her, but you'll just have to trust me for now!
