NOLA
Last May, hubby and I took our annual trip to New Orleans for the New Orleans Jazz & Heritage Festival. I took these pictures while we were there, but never really did any editing.

Snow days
We've had quite a bit more snow this year in the south than we're used to getting. On Monday morning we woke up to 5 inches of snow, which is probably more than the last several years combined. It was a complete surprise. Thankfully they decided not to interrupt the Superbowl with the winter weather warning!
Unfortunately, I ended up catching a stomach bug on Monday from Kiki, who must have caught it from Bubby over the weekend. I didn't even get any pictures of the snow. But I did just find these pictures, which were from the snow last week.
Check out the winter weather attire on Bubby. He is sporting his sister's purple L.L. Bean mittens, red Crocs that are one size too small, and Babylegs leg warmers complete with bones over his sweatpants. I think he looks simply adorable!
Kiki was a bit more put together with her matching hat & scarf.
Dear Mother Nature,
That's enough. We're ready for spring. I'm ready for some green & yellow in my pictures. Tell that groundhog he better change his prediction this year because we are so over the snow!

Wonderland
One of Kiki's favorite cousins turned 5 a couple weeks ago. These princesses were so happy to spend their day enjoying tea time with the Cheshire Cat.
They loved the chocolate fountain...
And especially the giant lollipops...
I think Kiki's favorite was putting on make-up!

Oops
I love it when I accidentally get a good shot! I was trying for this... icy grass in focus with the fire hydrant in the background...

Ice
In March 1994 we had a terrible ice storm which really hit hard. Almost the entire area was without power for a while. So whenever we hear ice in the forecast in this southern city, people start to freak out.
And of course, it ended up not so bad. Thankfully we just had a thin layer of ice on everything and the roads were pretty clear.
By Sunday the sun was shining. The skies were so blue and the icy trees looked like they were glass sparkling in the sun!
This picture reminds me of those medical tests where they put dye in your veins and it shows up on the x-ray. Looks like a veiny sky.
