Engagement

I have a funny story to tell with these pictures. My afternoon started off pretty slow with D & B. We walked around downtown looking for places to take pictures. We learned that downtown Memphis is actually pretty in the daytime.

Found some places to stop and pose.

Then we stopped by their reception site. Apparently D is a lot shorter than I thought because there was no hopping up there. Check out the look on B's face. We could not stop laughing! Poor D almost broke his arm. And he's a professional drummer. That would not have been a good thing.

We're still laughing

We finally got our composure together a little bit though

Congrats on your upcoming wedding!

My photo shoot with Spiderman

I had two AMAZING photo shoots last weekend. I don't know if it's the perfect weather or what, but I love how both turned out!

Here are a few pictures from my second shoot. Is this kid adorable or what? Don't let the sweet face fool you, he's a mess! :)

He wanted to be Spiderman in every picture...

Photobucket

We finally convinced him that he should be Peter Parker in a few pictures...

This boy loves his Momma!

Big Easy

Last weekend, the family and I drove down to the Big Easy. New Orleans. The kids actually had a great time and are ready to go back! It's probably because we ate a bunch of junk - candy, beignets, fried shrimp, and happy meals. It's definitely time to stock the fridge at home with fruit and veggies!

So here are a few things to do in New Orleans with kids...

Walk the streets of the French Quarter (preferably with Superman)
Photobucket

Walk down the alleys looking for fountains
Photobucket

Find a fountain
Photobucket

Watch the sunrise over Jackson Square
Photobucket

Sit on the steps at Jackson Square and eat beignets
Photobucket

Photobucket

Don't forget to lick your fingers!
Photobucket

Pose for pictures (only one of them will do this for me!)
Photobucket

Find more fountains
Photobucket

Find Nemo at the Aquarium
Photobucket

and a jellyfish
Photobucket

Isn't it ironic? Don'tcha think?
Photobucket

Watch the sunrise over the Mississippi River
Photobucket

Photobucket

Find another fountain
Photobucket

Make a wish
Photobucket

Jump on really big trampolines
Photobucket

And last, but not least, take a tour of the parade float warehouse. This is where they work all year long on the floats for Mardi Gras.

I have to say, New Orleans is one of our favorite cities. We were glad to let our kids experience a little of it. Kiki kept talking about how everybody was crazy.... especially after she saw a man, complete with the hairiest arms ever, in a formal strapless gown and wig on Bourbon street. I can't say I was completely prepared to address that topic!
