Backgrounds

Let me tell you a little bit about something that I love. This background. It's one of my favorite shades of blue and I just love it. I stumbled across this blue-painted fence at the zoo last weekend. I actually bribed two of the kids to sit here for a picture. Only cost me a quarter each. These kids are cheap! I would have easily paid a dollar!

Now, I wonder if my husband will let me paint a portion of our fence in the backyard this same color. I'm completely serious!

Seriously, Mom?

For the first two years of Kiki's life, I would take her occasionally to J.C. Penny's and get portraits made. We ended up with some really adorable pictures and I would inevitably spend way more than I intended.

My mom mentioned the other day that we have no "professional" portraits of Bubby from J.C. Penny's. Seriously, mom? We do not have enough pictures of Bubby?

I think not!

By the way, some of these azaleas bushes (pictured below) at my dad's house are older than I am! My grandparents had them for years. Before they sold their land and later passed away, my dad pulled them up and planted them in his yard. He had to pull them up with his truck because the roots were so big. They are still alive and kicking! And huge! And awesome!

Turns out little boys can look adorable in front of a bazillion pink flowers!

(and we're back to looking just like Daddy again)

(Say cheese!)

(How old are you?)

(Look! There's a kitty cat!)

Resemblance

Since the day Bubby was born all I ever hear is wow, he looks just like his daddy. I understand, I see it! But I personally think he looks a lot like me too. I love going back through old pictures to find similarities. I scanned a couple at my mom's house last night and now I definitely see it...

Here's Bubby:

Here I am below on the right:
Speaking of resemblance, check out my brother's little boy in the picture below. He looks a lot like his Daddy (above on the left)!

I still think Kiki takes the cake. She looks the most like me (I'm the blonde in the middle of the picture below):

And here's Kiki:

It's a busy Monday!

Barely time to post these! Just wanted to say that I really am proud of this big girl!

It's Friday!

I love a good sunset picture! I snapped this last night on my way home from my dad's house. I took the kids over because their azalea bushes are in full bloom and absolutely gorgeous (more on that later)!

I seriously got lucky with this picture. I was in the car with two sleepy kids and didn't have a good angle to get the picture except through my bug-splattered windshield. So I just stuck my camera out of the sunroof and took only one picture (yes, I was at a full stop).

Ahh, I love a good sunset!

Blue-eyed cutie

I know I've mentioned all of the blues eyed cousins in the family before. Here's another blue-eyed cutie and her 7 week old puppy.

Let me just tell you how much that dog has it made! She would get all cozy and just pass out in anybody arms! We were just passing her around for snuggles and she ate it all up. She's got lots of acres in the country for running and playing. I want to be that dog. At least for a day.

I love...

I love how much they love each other! He gets so excited in the morning when it's time to get Kiki out of the bed. He runs into her room yelling "Tee Teeeee!" and tries his best to climb up on her bed. I'll put my hand on his little bottom and give him a boost. Then he just climbs right on top of her and snuggles with everything he's got. She just eats it up and hugs him back. Cue melting.

Too bad we're usually in a hurry to make it out of the door every morning and it's soon followed by me telling Kiki it's time to get dressed, hurry, we're late.

She makes me smile!

Kiki wanted her picture taken when we were doing maternity pictures. I happy obliged!

First real photo shoot (sort of!)

A friend of mine called me this weekend and was taking a few pictures of her pregnant friend right down the street from my house. I've been dying for a willing participant to practice on so I butted in and basically took over the photo shoot (sorry Mel, hope you don't mind! :)

I hope she loves the pictures!

Brothers and Sisters

I happen to be blessed with an awesome family!!! We all get along and are pretty much drama free. I think I'm extremely lucky!

Here's my twin brother and his adorable family:

My older sister and her kids that are growing up way too fast! (BIL not pictured)

And here is me and mine:

Oh yeah baby, that's me on the 4-wheeler! Van and I were cruisin'! I promise you this 4-wheeler was around when I was a teenager! It is all rusted, but still purring like a kitten!

I also have 3 step-brothers and a step-sister. They're all great! I'm telling you, I'm the luckiest person in the world!

More zoo pics

I love the zoo. The Memphis zoo was recently rated #1 by Tripadvisor.com. Who knew? The weather was nice last weekend, so we decided to check it out. Bubby's only been there once and he was about 3 months old at the time, so I doubt he remembers much!

This guy didn't look very happy. I don't suppose I would be either though if hundreds of people gawked at me on a daily basis. I hope they at least get a little privacy! Funny story, a friend of mine told me the last time she went to the zoo, one of the gorillas, or monkeys, or something gave himself a, ahem, happy ending right there in front of her. I think I would have sold my zoo membership at that point. We did see a couple of pumas getting frisky. Gotta love mother nature!

This guy just decided to sit with his back to the people. I'm glad my husband's back isn't that hairy! whew! Outdoor festival season is coming up. Please leave your shirts on, guys! There's nothing worse than watching the Foo Fighters in a crowd of sweaty people with some hairy gorilla standing shirtless in front of you!

Here's Kiki and her daddy checking out the pink flamingos:

Speaking of pink flamingos, how do they sleep with one leg up like that? It must have been nap time when we were there!

Tulips at the zoo:

My sweet girl has now decided that she loves to pose for the camera! She now loves to strike the full-on-diva pose! Hey, I'll take what I can get!

Wow, somebody had some wild, frizzy hair that morning. Sorry kiddo, you're probably going to end up with your momma's hair including equal parts of wave (definitely not straight, but definitely not curly either) and frizz. Don't worry, I'll buy you a Chi flat iron as soon as you start doing your own hair!

Cousins

Kailyn adores her cousins (and I think they're all adorable too!) Here are a few of them on Easter weekend.

I just realized that every one of these kids have blue eyes, except my niece Allysa and hers are green (the exact same green as mine)! Mine were also blue when I was young, but at some point they changed. I keep wondering if my kid's eyes will eventually change. I guess we'll have to wait & see!
