Big Easy

Last weekend, the family and I drove down to the Big Easy. New Orleans. The kids actually had a great time and are ready to go back! It's probably because we ate a bunch of junk - candy, beignets, fried shrimp, and happy meals. It's definitely time to stock the fridge at home with fruit and veggies!

So here are a few things to do in New Orleans with kids...

Walk the streets of the French Quarter (preferably with Superman)

Walk down the alleys looking for fountains

Don't forget to lick your fingers!

Pose for pictures (only one of them will do this for me!)

Find more fountains

Find Nemo at the Aquarium

Isn't it ironic? Don'tcha think?

And last, but not least, take a tour of the parade float warehouse. This is where they work all year long on the floats for Mardi Gras.

I have to say, New Orleans is one of our favorite cities. We were glad to let our kids experience a little of it. Kiki kept talking about how everybody was crazy.... especially after she saw a man, complete with the hairiest arms ever, in a formal strapless gown and wig on Bourbon street. I can't say I was completely prepared to address that topic!
