It wasn't until she had to go to the afterschool care that she finally got a little sad. She told me she cried because she missed her Mommy and Daddy (talk about breaking my heart!) Most of the other kids boarded buses or their parents picked them up, but Kiki's teacher will walk her over to the gym every day where she will stay until I can pick her up. I've scheduled a playdate this weekend with a girl in our neighborhood that will also be in the afterschool care with Kiki. Hopefully once she knows somebody things will get better!
Once she got home I looked in her backpack and got out her folder that we review every night. Of course her last name was wrong. Ours starts with the letter R, not a P! This same thing happened at her very first check-up with her pediatrician. Poor thing, her first and last name will be spelled wrong for the rest of her life. Maybe we really should have named her Kiki Jones!
So it wasn't perfect, but I would still say it was a good first day. Next week we have to drop her off outside of the school instead of walking her in. I'll probably be more of a wreck that day than I was on her first day!
She's such a big girl now (cheesy face and all)!

Yes, KiKi Jones should have been her name. LOL! I am glad she had a good first day. We had the same problem with after school care. GTO didn't understand why all of his friends got to go home and he had to stay. It got better soon, and now he doesn't even like when we pick him early. :)
