Yep, Kiki started school today. She's been telling us for a couple of weeks that she does not want to go to school and she wants to stay at her daycare forever. Her daycare teacher even mentioned it to us last week. But yesterday we got to go meet her teacher and she met a few of the little girls in her class. She didn't want to leave once we got there! She's going to do great!
We got her backpack all ready, her lunch packed, washed some grapes for her snack. She's got new clothes, new shoes, and I braided her hair this morning. She is ready! And surprisingly, so am I!
Ugh, as soon as I walked outside to take some pictures my lens fogged up. It's going to be 103 degrees today! Gross!

When we got in front of the school, I was that mom that made her stand in front of the school sign to take pictures! She actually didn't mind. She's used to a camera in her face by now.

We got inside and hung up her back pack and said goodbye. Bubby was a little confused. He said "Kiki?" and pointed to her classroom. He wasn't quite sure why we were leaving her there. Daddy told him it was Kiki's new school and asked if he liked it. He said "Yeeaaaaah"

She's such a big girl and I'm so proud! I put a note in her backpack that said "I ♥ U" so if she got nervous or scared she could go look at it. But I doubt she'll be looking. She's got too many new friends and too much to learn!

Next up - cheerleading. She's got her first meeting tonight and she'll be fitted for her uniform. I cannot wait to take some cheerleading pictures!!! Ugh, she'll be a teenager if I blink.

This made me get teary eyed, because I know my day is coming too. I have two more weeks to get ready for GiGi's first day and I don't think I'm quite as ready as you. :)
ReplyDeleteKiKi HAD to be the cutest girl in school today! And I know she has the cutest pictures of all the kids in her class. :)
Lens fogging...I know what you mean! UUHHG!
Congratulation on the big milestone! She looks adorable.
ReplyDeleteShe looks like such a big girl, she is going to have a blast... And I agree she's going to be the cutest girl in the school for sure :)
ReplyDeleteCongratulations to Kiki! She looks like such a big girl w/her backpack on. Did you get teary eyed? I'm going to be a big ole mess when Kate starts kindergarten.
